A Sketchy Kinda Day

and that's not just the weather, which is awfully sketchy today.

Sketches are everywhere these days. It wasn't so long ago I never really gave a second thought to using a sketch when I scrapbook. But I've absolutely been converted. Not just 'cause I belong to the team at Once Upon a Sketch. I just love having a plan. It's makes scrapping so easy when you have an idea where you're heading. The beauty of it is, it's just a starting point and from there everyone has their own scrappy perspective.
Ok enough of me monologuing.  Here's the lastest at OUAS for Oct 1 challenge.  http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/october-1st-challenge.html

October 1st challenge

Journalling Criteria: WRITE  2 noteworthy (to you anyway) events of the past week. Your journalling can be as long as you wishThere is NO limit to how much journalling you include but in order to qualify as a winner for this challenge, we must see AT LEAST 1 SENTENCE of journalling on WHY each event was noteworthy.

Here's my interpretation.
I kept pretty close to Nadia's fabulous sketch.
The pic of Sienna is the one on the left side of the page. I flipped it to give the idea of different directions. There's bits and pieces from lots of differect companies. The tree, I cut from the new Prima Romantique line. The stencil is a Crafter's Workshop one. They're fabulous.
That cute little chipboard girl and alpha are from Imaginarium Designs.

Journalling is all about how this year my two went to separate schools for the first time. Sienna has always relied on her "younger, bigger brother" as she likes to call him. Mind you that 2 mins makes all the difference to her. This year she has to walk home on her own. I struggle with that everyday as she's not one of those street wise type of kids. Just yesterday she was late home. When I asked her what she was doing she said, "Throwing stones in the river." Then said I thought I'd better leave when I noticed no one was around. Yikes!
Our solution was to get them walkies talkies (oh I know a mobile/cell phone is what every kid wants but these old fashioned devises work well and don't have any on going costs, lol). Now they talk to each other on the way home from their schools.

Manorhouse Creations lovely blooms with a touch of ink.

Love these stencils and aren't those girls so cute.

Lots of prizes to be won girls so come and show us your lo.
