Add a little Flourish with Bling

I was thrilled to be asked to be Guest Design for February for  the Australian Company Flourish With a Bling http://www.flourishwithabling.com.au/store/.

A little while back Lucy one of the owners asked me to do some guest work using their fabulous products. I was so pleased to be featured in their magazine adverts.
This month with the arrival of some of their latest creations I created these layouts as their guest designer.
Check out the blog here: http://www.flourishwithabling.com.au/blog/

                                                              "Childhood Days"
Here's a bright one to start your day. lol Love that cute pic of my two, just having fun,  from a while ago.
I've used the  olive green Chloe Pearl Flourish on this one. I love the way it looks among the MHC flowers and Prima pp blooms.

Such joyful, colours. Oh Spring is coming!!!!
                                                              "Life"
This one is really just a statement on everyday life, mixing it up with some mists and paints. A walk along the beach on a cold day. I think my boy is trying to do a James Dean in that jacket. lol
Used FWAB teal Luck Flourish and teal pearls.

                                                                       "Surf"

Oh how much do I love the rolling surf. It's the place I always went to growing up. There's just something about that wild untamed sea. The pic was taken recently on our Christmas visit. It's the first place the kids wanted to go

FWAB products: Kate's silver corner flourish, Nicky's beach huts and flag banner, Chloe's pearl flourishes in baby blue.
PP is Webster's and some yummy Manorhouse flowers, some I painted the tips.

Those beach huts are so fun!
"Thinking of You"
I also included this card with the FWAB olive green Jack vine and copper pearls.

                                                              "We Were Young"
I love it when I get a chance to create a scene. lol. When I saw the BB seat a while back I knew I wanted to create a page around it. This ever so cute pic of my two when they were two had them sitting on an old garden chair and was perfect for the page.
So much FWAB on here: Taylah's toadstools,  Lee's tree and grass set, Trent's fence and pink Jasmine lazer flourish.
PP is G45, Webster's and Bo Bunny with some masking and MHC flowers.
Oh they were so cute back then. lol
Those little toadstools are so darn cute.
Life was simple. I think!
Hope you enjoyed my creations and thanks so much to the lovely ladies at Flourish with a Bling.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

How about a fun comp? GIVEAWAY!!!!!!

Want a great way to win some gorgeous Manor House Creations flowers?

It's so easy, check out the Manor House Creations blog here http://manorhousecreationsblog.com/2012/02/22/step-x-step-with-jeni-a-giveaway/#comments
for all the details about how you can win.

All you have to do is count the Manor House blooms I've used on this layout and follow the posting instructions.

Here's my layout and the steps I used to create it.
I love mixing it up with different techniques using mixed media to alter the flowers and background to create a splash of colour. I had the idea that I wanted to show a mix of techniques with a variety flowers. So I’ve embossed, stamped, inked, glittered, used perfect pearls, Liquid pearls, gesso and made 3d ones. All are altered. Created the background using, a mask, mists, gesso and splatters of paint.

                                                        My Story
                                                                              STEP X STEP

Step 1. Begin with a selection of Manor House Flowers flowers to alter.
Step 2. Using a variety of techniques such as embossing, inking. Decorate flowers

Step 3. Background was created misting a mask, paint splatters and gesso.
I love how pretty this looks. Sometimes the backgrounds are so nice , it's hard to cover them up.

Here I added a Flourish with a Bling flourish
Now the layers of flowers were added.
Love that Graphic 45 line. It worked so beautifully with the MHC blooms.

Some close ups of the different ways to alter the flowers.

Here 's the lo again completed. The way Sienna is sitting chatting it looked as though she was telling her story to an audience.
PP are G45, Webster's Pages and The Scrap Cake and Prima.

Good luck I hope you win!

A New Challenge

February 15th Challenge - NEW CHALLENGE

Welcome to the new challenge at Once Upon A..Sketch. We are delighted to see so many of you embracing our sister blog Get Creative this month and playing along with our challenge as well as theirs. It's awesome to see how scrapbooking, which is JUST a hobby, can bring together so many people from all over the world.

February 15th Challenge
Have you printed out all those photos from your last holiday or most favourite holiday? We would LOVE to see them and hear all about it. With the theme of holidays for this challenge, we would love to hear about: your favourite holiday of all time or a favourite place you would LOVE to holiday in . Or how about the last holiday you went to?  Maybe you have not travelled yet? Then tell us about your DREAM HOLIDAY

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and theme and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.
You must combine our journalling criteria/theme with this sketch.
So here's a layout I did a few weeks ago and it fits the sketch so well I thought they'd be great together.
It's one about how much Sienna loves to be a girl and wear her summer dresses, long before the weather's warm enough.

Some loveliness from Manor House Creations.

Come and join in our challenge. Lots of great prizes to be won too.

Prizes
The winner of this prize will receive this gorgeous kit from Swirlydoos...

Check them all out here.
Here's a few other layouts for you. They're from the lastest Scrapbooking Creations, Aussie mag.
First three are from a feature I wrote on Mixed Media. Heres' the feature.
Thanks to Nadia for copying this for me.
This one of Jera is simple mm.
Unfortunately I deleted the pic of the whole layout. Duh! I just have some close ups to show.

My gorgeous boy. He's always had a hat fetish.

This one you might remember. It was the reason SC commissioned the feature.
It was for moderate difficulity.

And the third was the one for complex mm.
It's one of my two looking awfully sweet for the camera.
Lots of misting, inking, spraying and paint mediums on this one.

This one was in the same issue for the Colour Team and perfect for show for Valentine's Day.

And on this Valentine's Day. Here's a close up of my two Valentines.

From Sienna's card to me.
I (sic) love u forever
I like you u for always
As long as I'm living
I'll be happy to love you.

LOL Gotta love those precious memories.

Wishing you a day filled with love and suprises.
