Reveal - Manorhouse Creations

Today's my reveal day over at Manorhouse Creations. http://manorhousecreationsblog.com/

Here's one of the first layouts I created for the dt using Manorhouse flowers and Scrapcake "Bright Side of Life."  That title from Scrapcake always makes me smile. Anyone else a Monty Python fan from way back when? I just can't help humming that tune.
The pic is one dh caught of Sienna giving me a kiss a couple of years ago. It's acutally a group shot and she just reached over and spontaneously and gave me a sweet kiss.

Aren't these flowers just stunning? Soooo beautiful. I love the two tones. They give such depth to the blooms.

This embellie I created using a frame from Imaginarium Design, embossed it and added some Bo Bunny metal to the middle. I love the olde world look to it.
Lovely rich colour. I've got a thing for feathers atm.lol. I just keep adding them to all my pages.

The flourish is a guest piece from Flourish With A Bling. I just love the wayit added such gorgeous bling to the page.
I've used Imaginarium Designs chipboard for the title and the flourishes are inked and Utee applied to give the lovely glossy look.

Please if you get a chance come on over and say "Hi" to me at Manhorhouse. I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks so much for visiting and for your sweet comments.

CHALLENGE- A Visit to the Archives

COME WITH ME FOR A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE.

I was challenged by the lovely Gybogi http://scrapingthemoment.blogspot.com/  from Hungary, to a game called "from what a beetle comes." It makes a fun translation lol  The challenge is to display my first layout.  I started out in scrapping 15, yep 15 years ago! Can't believe it really.  My first layouts are so funny to look back on. I'm sure my kids could do a better job.

Sadly I don't have access to them as they're in storage. So I did the next best thing and found some of my old layouts on line at one of the on-line shops where I used to be on the design team. Luckily I found these still in the gallery. They're all from about 5 years ago. I think there's still plenty of similaries to my style today. I'd love to know which one is your favourite.

                                                   So here we go.lol
The first two were layouts I did using my waxing technique. This first one I altered the pic before waxing. The technique is a bit rough on this one. The theme was to scrap a page about what your legacy would be when you're gone.
Journalling: They are my eyes to see
They are my voice to speak
They are my heart to love
They are the very best of me
They are my legacy.

I love this one of Jera throwing stones. I did it on a canvas. Love the wax effect on the water and rocks.

The theme for this one was "My Home"
My journalling reads: No bricks and mortar will ever hold my heart.
No material possessions will ever be my love.
Wherever my heart is that's my home.

This Christmas pic is 6 years ago. Lots of paper tole on this one. Such a cute pic.

This one was done as an introduction to the team.
Journalling reads: Who am I you may ask! But the answer is not so simple.
I'm many things to many people. A mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend.
I'm a Midife, a Teacher, Astrologer, a Scrapbooker, a humanitarian.
But my greatest achievement and deepest love is as a mother.
Simple really!

This one just because I love that beautiful face and those sweet curls. Got no idea what I was trying to do with the inking at her mouth.lol

OMG this was a family tree one. Showing my arty side, lol. I painted most of this. That pic is hilarious. That's me on the far left with my 3 bros and 2 sisters.
Journalling says it all.
Like a bird perched out on a limb, I have always lived my life to the sound of a different tune... when the wore florals, I wore stripes.  (and a terrible spiral perm! OMG)

This one is an album for a series of layouts with reality themes.

Last one I promise. This was to show I could do a white space lo. Love that pic.

So that's it for the trip down memory line.
Now I challenge you all my dear readers.
Please let me know so I can go and laugh right back at ya'. LOL
Have a great weekend.

When I first saw the beautiful blooms from Manor House I fell in love with their amazing colour and texture.
How could you not fall in love with these!
                                     Just think...
Sunshine, blue lagoons and awesome sunsets.

This one needs
a long cold drink on a deserted island.

Soft and delicate bunny tails.

Fresh flowers are always nice

These are called Tango and isn't that a perfect name.
Just add some salsa.lol

Aren't the highlights on these stunning. Bloomin' Beautiful!

OUAS- Sept 1st Challenge

It's challenge time at Once Upon a Sketch http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/
So here is our September 1st challenge...
Journalling Criteria : A memorable year - Your title must be a year, and you must journal at least 2 lines on why this year is memorable for you. Examples: the year you got married, the year you graduated, the year you moved to a new house/country, the year you started a new job, the year your child was born, the year you lost someone dear. Your journalling can be in any language and any format (written, typed etc)

You must combine our journalling criteria with the following sketch...

Here's my take on Nadia's amazing sketch. She really has a talent for design creations.
"2000" This was the year I finally became a mum.
After many years of trying and a lot of heartache. We finally had our sweet baby twins.
There's also a message hidden in there to a lovely lady.
She knows who she is.

I kept pretty close to the sketch, just adding a circluar frame with the Melissa Frances pp. It's worked so beautifully with the Bo Bunny.
My two line journalling uses part of the fabulous chipboard by Imaginarium Designs http://imaginariumdesigns.blogspot.com/ who are wonderful sponsors of Once Upon a Sketch,
"A Mother's love lasts a lifetime. My love lasts an eternity."

Yep that's a pic of me! OMG that look on my face makes me laugh. I remember the photographer saying look protective. And my sweet little baby is Jera. He still looks much the same after all this time. lol

The chippies are just so beautifully detailed. Here I've used the frame and after painting and spraying, I applied a script stamp. I love that look on chipboard. Also the lovely butterflies. On them I used chalk ink in two colours, applied some perfect pearls to the edges with stickles and added liquid pearls to the centres.
I love the look of those fab feathers. A perfect colour match and great texture.
The corner is also from Imaginarium.

Flourish with a Bling  have some gorgeous bling. I've added the fabulous flourish here.
I also want to mention this beautiful ribbon. It was sent on a birthday card to me from the sweetest, most delightful scrapper Romy. http://www.scrapstuffandmore.blogspot.com/ This girl really is special!
It was such a perfect match for my lo.
Thanks Romy hun xx.

So come on over and join us. We love seeing what you create and you never know you might just win one of the wonderful prizes.

And a word of thanks for our amazing OUAS sponsors. They do such a fabulous job each fortnight. Every two weeks for all you girls who don't use that word. LOL.

I'M HERE! (said in my best poltergeist voice)

I'm back! It's just been one of those more that crazy times in life when you have too much going on.
I've been scrapping a bit for some up coming feature for Scrapbook Creations. And I've just been busy with life. You know how it gets.

This last week, I've been away camping. Even managed to find a few moments to scrap a lo in my tent. Now that's a sickness for you. lol
Here's the layout I created. It did it for the Webster's Pages Aug challenge. I've also included some fabulous products from two Aussie companies.
It's a lo celebrating my kids recent graduation. Sienna looks so grown up in her black and white and Jera...no I didn't bribe hime to wear the hat and tie. He honestly has a bit of a thing for both. He was recently gifted some ties and told me he now has one for every day of the week.lol. As for the hats he has quite a selection.  Gotta laugh at kids idiosyncrancies.

Flourish With a Bling asked me to do some guest work for them and sent me their brand new additions. This ever so cute banner is one of them. Check them out here http://www.flourishwithabling.com.au/store/

I've also been so lucky to work with the gorgeous Aussie chipboard company Imaginarium Designs http://imaginariumdesigns.blogspot.com/ as part of my DT work with Once Upon a Sketch http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/  Here I've used the intricate butterfly and I just adore the scripted word title.

I have HEAPS of blogs and way too many fabulous los to catch up on.
I'll try and pop in on all of you lovely friends.
Take care,
Jenixx
