We would love to see what you create, so please link your project to back at the Once Upon A...Sketch blog. You DO NOT have to participate in the blog hop to enter this challenge.

Here is this month's challenge....

April Challenge
The theme of this challenge is HOME.

We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "HOME" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and this sketch.
NB. Sketch is rotated to the left of original.

Here's my layout...

I took a bit of a different perspective. I thought about lots of ways to scrap "my" home. I thought about scrapping old pics of all the houses I've lived in, my childhood home, or the first house I bought. The house I live in now has never really felt like home. It's the house we live in for this time in our lives. IYKWIM.
In the end, I decided home, to me, is more about the people who surround you than the house you live in. I took this pic of my dh and our kids playing around and it was the perfect symbol of my home.
My journalling says it all.

I love the joy on their faces.
Some beautiful Manor House flowers.
Some chipboard from our wonderful Imaginarium Designs sponsor. Word and top shape.

Some bling from Flourish with a Bling

Lots of texture, masking, stamping, gesso and tissue paper.
PP are The Scrap cake, Bo Bunny, Webster's Pages.

Manorhouse and Creative Scrappers

Today Manorhouse Creations supports the Canadian sketch site Creative Scrappers for their 200th celebration.
Check it out here at  http://creativescrappers.blogspot.ca/ and http://manorhousecreationsblog.com/
And here's my take on the sketch.

A cute pic of my two taken as the sun was setting.
To create the background, I used tissue paper and mod podge. I love the effect.
The chippies are from Imaginarium designs and the vine from Flourish with a Bling.

Gorgeous new Manorhouse Creations blooms. I love those meringue ones. They look good enough to eat.

A little of this and that

Here's a bit of a catch up, with a little bit of everything that's happening.

First up, it's challenge time over at OUAS http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/2012/03/march-15th-challenge.html. Come over and join in the fun.

March 15th Challenge

Journalling Criteria:   Finish this line "I miss...".
Tell us about someone you are missing right now and why. Your journalling can be as long or as little as you like, but we want to hear all about someone you are missing!

Ideas for journalling: missing time alone with your partner, missing your old self, missing your children because they are off to school, university or living away from you, missing your children being young, missing a friend you have not seen in a while, someone in another country, someone that has passed away, a mentor whose advice you could use, a relative you wish you lived closer to, someone you regret having an argument with, missing a pet.
Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and theme and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.
YOU MUST combine our journalling criteria with this sketch..

So sorry to see Helen, Irma and Vibeke go. Fabulous designers and wonderful ladies.
Wishing you all the best.
Some great prizes to be won too.

Adding some creations in here.
I've been wanting to do these for a while...they're Pen pots.
Created for dt work for Manorhouse Creations.
Each one is separate which is great when you just want some pens and not the rest.

Added some Flourish with a Bling vines and toadstools and jewel scrolls.

Sienna now has them sitting on her desk and loves them. I like that she's stopped asking, "Mum do you have a pencil/pen/scissors." LOL
Here's a lo for Manorhouse too.

Doesn't that watermelon look delicious!

Last one is in this month's Scrapbook Creations magazine for the Colour Team.
We had to do one highlighting contrasting colours. I took mine from Sienna's fushia top.
The reds and greens really make each other pop.

Have a great weekend. Hope you find some time to scrap. Hmm now that would be nice!

Aww- How precious...

is this pic from way back when?  I've been meaning to scrap it for ages. The pic was taken when Jera was a couple of month's old. He spent the first five weeks in hospital as he was so small at birth.
Just 1.5 kg (3lb 5oz for the US girls). Hmm dad had a lot more hair then too.lol Actually it was in a ponytail down the back.

The flowers from MHC are so wonderful with all the texture. I just added a little gesso to the tips.

Such a precious pic.
The lo is one for this month's DT work for Manorhouse Creations. The brief was for a lo with a white background. I added a little TA spray and brushed on some gesso for a misty effect.
PP is all prima.
Flourish with a Bling black jewels and some old DA chipboard I had in my stash.

TFL,
Jenix

REVEAL Day- Flying Unicorn

So excited to show you these. Today is reveal day at Flying Unicorn. This month's kit is all about ritz.
It's the black dress and tux time! lol I could not believe what I found in my box, so many gorgeous products to create aglam theme. Here's what I came up with.

First up is one of Sienna doing one of her best intense looks. No posing here she just looked dead at the camera with this look. lol She's such a passionate child. No matter what she does she does it with heart.
Did a touch of photshopping.lol Look at those pouty lips. Got those from her dad.

I created these little clay roses to go with the page. Happy to add a tut for these if anyone wants.
Also hand cut some hearts and misted and stickled them for effect.
Now one in b&w of my boy. Such a beautiful smile on this boy's face.

Some of the lovely flowers. This kit is packed full of them.

And here's a very differnt one. Changing up the colour theme here. Here's one in the subtle apricots. I gave this one a vintage look. The pic looks like something from early last century. At first I had it in sepia but it was too much so went with the b/w.
Some of the blooms up close. I just adore those little jewels for the middle.

The flowers are the "Color Me" variety and great for inking and altering.
AND.... here's the amazing Kaisercraft OTP I've been working on. Oh this has to be my fav for sure.
Not sure what it is, a cross between punk and gothic I guess, with wings. LOL

Then I added some little flowers to her dress edges.

Love these flowers and sprayed a little mist on them.

I made all the wings. Love the effect they create. The bodice is made from foam piping and the kit transparency. I punched holes for the lace and threading some twine. The string of beads was a perfect compliment
Sienna and I are fighting over who gets to keep her. lol
Thanks so much to girls at Flying Unicorn for making me so welcome and to Alda for her amazing kit.
Have  agreat weekend,
Jenix

OUAS- a sketchy card

It's challenge time again over at Once Upon a Sketch http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/2012/03/march-1st-challenge-meet-our-guest.html

This challenge was one I thought about for a long time. I know there's probably lots of things I could have said I do well. We all do. But there's one thing that stood out to me. I 'm good a seeing the funny side of things and my take really was all about that.
Mary Poppins said it so well. "Practically perfect in every way." No self esteem issues there.
Now if only I had a spoon full of magic!

Come and join in our challenge. It's fun and there's great prizes.
Happy scrapping,
Jenix

March 1st Challenge

Journalling Criteria/Theme:
All About Me!

The focus of your journalling and the theme of your layout has to be based on YOU and something/s that you are really good at. Don't be shy! We are all good at something as small or as big as it might be.

Ideas for journallingbeing a good mum, cooking, talking, understanding people, organising, cleaning, gardening, studying, computers, fashion, exercising, scrapbooking, good at my job, maths, languages, writing , drawing, painting, photography, running, craft, sewing. Maybe you can talk about an aspect of your personality..your sensitivity, your 6th sense, your patience, your strength or bravery, your ability to stay positive.

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and theme and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.

You MUST combine our journalling criteria with this sketch..
And here's my take on Nadia's sketch.

"Practically perfect in every way"  What more can I say! Hee hee.
The things we do for scrapping. It cost me $8 to buy the Butterrick pattern that had this pic on the front!lol
I'm sending it to my sister who is such a perfectionist around the house.
I'm always asking her to visit me so some of it will rub off. lol
                             Some layering.
Oh she looks so prim and proper, Mrs Stepford!

PS. Thanks to all of you who have been dropping by leaving me a lovely comment. I appreciate it to much. I'm busy working on a couple of projects atm, but promise as soon as I can I'll be dropping in for a visit.
